Welcome Everyone,
The Applesauce Update debut comes at a great time for Jennifer Elizabeth. The new Jennifer Elizabeth Holiday 2010 collection has just been added to the new website and will be in stores starting September 1st! There will be trunk shows happening this fall in different areas of New York and we are doing a great promotion for Fashion’s Night Out on September 10th 2010!
You might ask- why is this called the Applesauce Update? My beau nicknamed me Applesauce because I was watching one of my favorite movies, Factory Girl, and in the movie Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick say to each other, “Your the boss applesauce,” and he must have over heard this because he randomly said it to me later in the evening when I was of course deciding what he was going to wear to dinner that night. Now it’s “Applesauce has spoken!” or “Your the boss Applesauce!” or just plain old “Applesauce.” It’s true, I do like things my way and I think that’s what makes me so great at my job. I love being a jewelry designer. My artistic energy comes from everywhere and from everyone around me and I love seeing that energy come into the shape of a beautiful necklace, bracelet, ring, etc.
So welcome everyone to “Sundays Most Stylish Women.” Every Sunday there will be a new, inspiring and stylish woman who has taken a status in style that people look up to. It may be a celebrity, greek goddess, friend of mine, or one of the beautiful woman that you see all over the world everyday. Since today is the debut of the Applesauce Update, I think it would only be appropriate if I chose one of my favorite style icons and who I can thank this blog for taking shape. Miss. Edie Sedgwick!
I think these pictures are very inspiring for the next up-coming season because earrings are going to be a huge part of the jewelry trend and so is layering and look at how well Edie can just throw together a look like that.
When designing a new collection most of the time you start with a woman or man that you are inspired by. And I think I will always be inspired by Edie Sedgwick.
