I’m off to London today and I thought it would be perfect to honor one of my favorite’s… Kate Moss. I mean where do you start? The woman has effortless style everywhere she goes. I think ever since I was thirteen, I always cut out pictures of Kate in magazines and just adored her style and wanted to dress just like her. But I’m a true believe that you can’t and shouldn’t ever copy anyone’s style. You need to make it your own. That’s what’s so great about honoring stylish women. You can take things that you love about their style and re-interpret it to make it work for you.
Ever since Kate Moss, became, well Kate Moss, I don’t think I have ever seen a bad picture of her. She has this chic, bohemian, yet glamourous look to her and she carries herself with confidence which is something that everyone should take into consideration. If you don’t have confidence when your wearing something, then your not gonna rock it right, and the look will just totally be wrong.
In 2005 when Kate was caught in a cocaine scandal, numerous companies dropped her as a spokesperson for their company. You might not think of her as a good role model, but she has never said, “Please look at me, I am your role-model, copy everything I do.” She is probably one of the most photographed woman in the world, yet she is extremely quiet, rarely ever doing any interviews.
A year after that incident she was named Model of the Year. She got bashed a lot for getting that award, but I think it was a great comeback, to one of the most influential people in fashion. She’s not a bad person, she just did some bad things in her life, just like everyone else. And she is one of the most beautiful people in the world, you can’t just mark someone so terribly after recovering from a scandal. That’s why it’s called a recovery.
And her sense of fashion since then just gets better and better. I would die to work with her, to see in her in Jennifer Elizabeth would be a dream…maybe one day it will come true. These are a few of my favorite Kate Moss looks ever:
