It’s A Nice Day For A…White Wedding

Lyrics from one of the most famous rocker wedding songs EVER, by infamous punk rocker, Billy Idol.

Billy Idol, White Wedding, 1982

Taking cue from this song, we at Jennifer Elizabeth have compiled some Rocker Wedding inspiration for all of you rebel hot mamas.  Below you’ll see Polyvore sets we’ve created for both the BFF Rocker Bridesmaid, and of course, the beautiful and badass Rocker Bride herself in all her glory!  Lastly, I’ve dug in my crates and created a Rocker Bride Wedding playlist for all you music heads out there :)

First up is the beautiful bestie Bridesmaid!  (Try saying that 3 times fast!)  Your best gal will be a knock out in this minimalistic, yet stunning outfit.  Understated with flashes of true glamor, we’ve paired this bewitching Lindsley dress from Barney’s with the Jennifer Elizabeth signature/one-of-a-kind pieces, the Don’t Leave Me necklace and the gorgeous gold Chain Duster earrings.  In addition, we’ve stacked some of our ever-so-popular Nadya rings (sold on Free People as well!), with our stunning Candace ring, which is part of our newest Spring 2011 collection.

Also, with her Maggie Chain-toe Platform pumps, to-die-for Alexander McQueen satin knuckle clutch, and beautiful OPI nails…this girl is gonna feel amazing when she rocks out at the wedding and reception.  If she’s feeling extra daring, she can rock the Marbella lace adhesive tattoos!

Sunday’s Most Stylish Women (at the GLOBES!)

For Fashionista’s everywhere, the Golden Globes are our Superbowl. Hundreds of gorgeous celebrities in breath-taking attire and we all get to judge…how fun is that? Well this years ladies are so beautiful as usual but there are always a few that stay in mind throughout the year, if not years, about just how stunning they looked. My top picks:

Olivia Wilde, This “House” actress looked so glamourous in this Marchesa dress. The chocolate colored gown was embroidered with gold sequins that sparkled all the way down the red carpet. I love that she left her hair down to add that sex kitten feel to it. And the gold spiked Louboutin’s gave her the rock-n-roll look she pulls off so well. She set the bar high…

Newly engaged Natalie Portman showed off her growing baby bump in a pale pink Viktor & Rolf dress with a gorgeous, sparkling red rose at the bust. She looked elegantly sleek in her french twist and her eco-friendly heels by Stella McCartney. Such a perfect dress for the petite, pregnant star of the Black Swan. Catherine Zeta Jones accompanied her cancer SURVIOR husband Michael Douglas (who also look AH-MAZING!) to the Globes tonight. She wore an emerald green, ruffled silk gown by Monique Lhuillier that looked perfect with her dark hair and those jaw-dropping diamond earrings.

* Sweet Charity *

I am pleased to announce that I am going to become an AUNT!  Yes, Jennifer Elizabeth Amenta, of Jennifer Elizabeth jewelry is going to be an aunt. My younger brother, Jake, is marrying the sweetest girl, Charity. I will finally have a sister! During their engagement Charity found out she was pregnant, which is such a blessing because my mother and grandmother so want a grandchild..and they have got a long ways to go with me, lol, so this is actually perfect. So with that, I get to plan her shower! Were having a bridal/baby shower in March and since I am engaged as well, I thought this would be really fun, if not trial and error for my own…

First up is getting invitations, and I found out it’s harder than I thought! Their are a million different places to get/make invitations. First stop was Kate’s Paperie. They have an excellent selection and they also customize invites for weddings, showers, etc. Like how cute is this one for a baby shower:            And this one is soooo beautiful for a bridal shower:

But unfortunately they don’t have a combined bridal and baby shower invite, so I am going to customize it myself. To work with my budget for this shower, I went to www.walgreens.com and went to the photo section. You can make invites there and put a picture in of what ever you may like! So I chose an adorable pic of my brother and Charity and voila! Done with that one!

Next up….Dessert? Obviously.

I’m a cupcake girl. Want to win my heart over? Send me cupcakes! In NYC there are so many delicious places to go for cupcakes:

Cupcake Cafe, 18 West 18th Street

YES- those are actually cupcakes!!! How delicious does that look? I think I would be too scared to eat it and ruin all of that beauty.

Also, found a GORGEOUS wedding cake here! Check this out: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crumbs, They have many locations, I like the one in Brooklyn Heights at 109 Montague Street I would take the Colossal Cupcake, but I think I would OD on all that sugar so that’s probably not the best idea. But it sure does look good.

A lot of people come to New York City to go sight-seeing, stroll through Central Park and….go to Magnolia Bakery. Whenever you go there, morning, noon, or night, you will always find a line wrapped around the sidewalk in order to get in. They are motly known for the ah-mazing Red Velvet cupcakes. Personally, they are a little to sweet for me, but I would take one if it was in front of me. :) And this cupcake tower for a wedding is pretty cool,

Then the last one is Billy’s Bakery, which I think has, hands down, the best cupcakes I have ever had. Ever.

Billy’s Bakery has two locations. I go to the one in Chelsea, 184 9th Avenue between 21st and 22nd

However, I don’t think they do much decorating on the cupcakes, so for a bridal/baby shower I would want a cute decoration on top. So unfortunately, Billy’s is out. :(

Charity- your just going to have to wait and find out which one!!

I got my invitations and my dessert done. Activities, party food, gifts, and decorating are next on the list, but I can’t give everything away. It’s gotta be a surprise!

Love ya Charity xo

Fergilicious

A couple of months ago I had the wonderful opportunity to send Fergie some jewelry from Jennifer Elizabeth. Fergie has been every where in the past few months. She now has her own line of dress shoes, sandals, and boots called Fergie Footwear.

I’m absolutely in LOVE with the Fergie Women’s Barter platform and they are only $109!!! (I’m a size 7 if anyone is wondering.) ;) Plus if you become a fan on Facebook you can receive 15% off until January 19th.

Fergie also has an ah-mazing perfume spray, Outspoken. It’s for the fearless women and Fergie definitely represents that! If you want to order the Outspoken perfume made by this trendsetter, please contact Jeanne Amenta – jeanneamenta@sbcglobal.net or 860-571-8821. And yes my Mom is the Avon Lady!
jeanneamenta@sbcglobal.net. Yup my mom’s the Avon Lady!

But, back to Fergie’s incredible fashion, when I had the chance to send some pieces to her, I chose some perfect pieces that I thought would go with her style. So I sent her the Aphrodite, The Shimmy Necklace in Black, the Zora, Gypsy Rose and Jessenia bangles and the destiny rings…she loved…!

Fergie is AH-MAZING! To show her gratitude she sent me a Thank You letter!

xoxo

*Basic* Home Essentials for EVERY Fashionista!

One of my favorite things to do is shop for home “accessories” – which I tend to call  essentials… I love decorating my home. I love thrifting and finding amazing furnishing, either broken or new, because thankfully the man in my house loves to fix things! But I love looking through Elle Decor and Town & Country’s Home Edition, and I love love love going through gift guides in fashion magazines and checking out the “Haute Home Items!” One of my absolute favorite home designers is Jonathan Adler. I have quite an obsession with elephants and he knows how to make them cute, yet sophisticated. Barney’s had a great selection of his holiday ornaments last Christmas, and my best friend Maggie surprised me with the elephant one for the holidays. The sleek porcelain of the elephant with the baby blue ribbon tie to hang on the tree made everything come together! Here’s some of my next favorites I hope I can add to my bridal registry!

The Darjeeling Teapot, $110 and the Darjeeling Mugs, $24

Would love to start saving some money for all of these ah-mazing opportunities and events coming up and what better way to save then in this ADORABLE elephant bank!

Elephant Bank, $78

These 100% wool needlepoint pillows can bring amazing flare to any sofa or chair.

Aquarius Zodiac Pillow, $98

And then this is my ultimate favorite & I would LOVE to collect them all!

Prozac canister, $80 Quaaludes canister, $135 Downers canister, $120 & the Uppers canister, $95

I don’t really know how these would go over on a bridal registry, but a girl can dream.

And then how cool would it be to add some of his amazing wallpapers to a wall in your home office. I’m not talking the whole office- but just one wall to add some flair.

Keys Wallpaper, $195

The Wedding Planner…

So this past Christmas my boyfriend of three & a half years proposed! So exciting, I couldn’t be happier. I mean I knew it was coming, but WOW! I’m engaged!

So with that, the wedding planning begins! There is Vera Wang, Marchesa, Saks, and Bergdorf appointments already made and I have been buying wedding books & magazines like it’s my job. And yes as I have been watching those bridal TV shows whenever they are on because…well, I don’t know why. But as my friend Capri says, “The wedding bug is a complete disease!” So I figured , why don’t I add on the bridal disease to my blog…right? And my fiance is the most amazing man I have ever met and I can go on and on forever about him, but how cute is it that he wrote on our white board after we got home from where he proposed to me that we are getting married! He knew I would say YES!

One of my closest friends Karen is a bridal designer. She has her own Altier in Brooklyn and designs AH-MAZING pieces every season! So naturally I will be discussing my dress with her. I will be begging her to make some things for my wedding and possibly helping me make my own wedding dress!! But we will see how much time I have with that one. Karen’s designs are so gorgeous, if you are engaged, you should contact her! A few of Karen’s looks:

I think finding a dress that I like or designing one is going to be my biggest challenge because I like sooo many different styles1 One of my absolute favorite dresses is this Vera Wang dress from her Fall 2010 Collection.

I love the mixed materials used and I love the soft pleats on the bottom. I love how the top seems “hard” with using a heavier lace and that it gracefully hits the bottom in a “soft” flow. I wouldn’t wear the black ribbon but it looks beautiful in this shot.

I have been very lucky with the success of Jennifer Elizabeth’s Signature Bridal Collection of jewelry. The Knot, Brides, The Bridal Guide, Wedding Bells, and Inside Weddings have been so wonderful to me by using my jewelry on their shoots. So thank you all so much! And also thanks to Michelle Roth, where my jewelry was worn in her most recent show:

Elephants Stick Together…And Friends Do Too!

We at Jennifer Elizabeth are incredibly excited and pleased to announce our newest product of Elephant friendship necklaces!  “Why Elephants?,” you may ask yourself—-well, we here at Jennifer Elizabeth value and treasure those majestic, noble creatures, and want to do our part in helping them from becoming extinct.

Sadly, because of ivory trading and poaching, elephants are one of the many species here on this earth who are in danger of becoming extinct.  What a tragedy in our world’s culture, to such a peaceful, wondrous creature.  Humbly, we are now offering the Elephant friendship necklaces, and a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to The David Sheldrick Wildlife TrustThe David Sheldrick Trust is a foundation who has spent its lifetime dedicated to the protection and preservation of Africa’s wildlife and denizen…particularly the endangered elephants.  It is with the utmost humility and gratitude that we celebrate our newest partnership with this foundation!

And in the spirit of friendship, what better way than to buy an Elephant friendship necklace for a friend…while helping to preserve this species?  Elephants are symbolic of friendship, and also are known to exhibit this trait in real life.  Just look at the way they link together, trunk to tail!
